Why should the staff team accept you as a Moderator on Colossal Gaming Military Roleplay? (minimum 100 words):
I'm not going to pretend that I was a perfect staff member my first time around. Nearing the end of my tenure as a staff I tended to neglect my duties and for that I apologise. Despite this my previous experience and knowledge of how to handle situations make me a good applicant for staff. A large reason for my re-application for staff is to be able to become an RPO/do more RP that involves staff involvement, my past experience as a Head Roleplay Overseer proves me as capable to roleplay and create entertaining scenarios for players.
In summary I should be accepted as a Moderator as my previous experience in administrating, roleplay and moderation makes me an excellent candidate for staff.
Discuss your ability to work in a team and give examples that demonstrate this:
I have held a large amount of previous leadership positions and positions of power, including: Head Roleplay Overseer, Administrator, Delta Force General (Twice), Delta Force Colonel (present), Lieutenant General and General of the Armies. All of these positions include teamwork, communication and logistical thinking. Because of this I am well versed in working in a team and I am able to work collaboratively for the benefit of the server.
Discuss any past experiences that you believe have impacted the server and player(s) positively:
My past time as the Head Roleplay Overseer allowed me to create positive roleplay experiences for the server.
My time as the General of the Armies gave me influence over the US Faction and created a positive experience for players.
My time in Delta Force (past and present) lets me have influence over a smaller community of players and allows me to teach them about the server/creates a positive server & regiment experience for players.
Describe your personality and speak a little about yourself:
I have been playing Colossal for around two and a half years and have remained in the US faction the entire time, more specifically Delta Force and High Command. I enjoy creating roleplay and creating a positive experience for US Faction members.
Personally I see myself as a laid back person, I often take things as they come and try to not let things bother me. I am social and will talk to almost anyone, because of this I am open to those who want support/need help with CG or non CG related matters.
Overall I aim to paint myself as a well liked member of CG who is easy to talk to.
Scenario 1: A player with an attack heli has intentionally fired in front of the enemy base gates to kill someone with a bounty, but also killing players inside the base. A ticket is made by one of these bystanders and the attacker denies all the accusations saying it was an accident saying that there was no proof
Question 1: As a Moderator, how do you react (minimum 80 words)?
My first step is to take the ticket using !ticket, go to the admin room and bring the ticket creator and ask them to explain their story, while they explain I will use the !blogs scenario viewer to see the damage, kills and positions of the players, once the ticket creator finishes their story I will thank them and return them to avoid conflict between the both of them. I will then bring the accused, explain the situation and request them to explain their side of the story, using the scenario viewer I will confirm if the people were in base or not:
If the people without a bounty that were killed were INSIDE the base, i will administer a warning using !warn and send a message to their officer/chiefs about the situation.
If the people were killed OUTSIDE of the base the sit will depend if the accused is US or Taliban. If the accused was a US, they would be killing unarmed civilians. I will trust the honesty of them claiming it was an accident and administer a verbal warning, and contact their officers.
If they were Taliban there would not be an issue as those killed are outside base + US, meaning no rules were broken.
If the only person killed was one with the bounty, I would tell the accused to remain careful about shooting those inside the base as it is easy to misfire and accidentally kill people.
Scenario 2: A Chief/Officer has been caught spawning in props to prop climb a wall despite previous warnings from staff for doing similar things. You tell him to stop but a few hours later another staff member catches him doing it.
Question 2: As a Moderator, how do you react (minimum 80 words)?
My first move would be to give the offending officer a verbal warning and remind them of the severity of q-menu abuse and the punishments that come with it. Once the other staff had caught the Officer/Chief I would temporarily demote the officer to Second lieutenant/Notorious, I would then contact their Regiment CO and the leaders of the faction, I would tell them that it is up to them if they get re-promoted back to an officer rank. I would use !xwarn to log the player for “Q-Menu Abuse | Player used props to climb over wall | Demotion to 2LT” Finally I would place a notice in the staff discord to explain the situation further and the recommended action if it were to happen again.
Scenario 3: A Player is running around on the server and RDMing constantly. Despite previous warnings from other staff, this player is still on his murder spree. All the other staff has logged off and you are the only one left. You've encountered this player before and have found him to be quite the minge.
Question 3: As a Moderator, how do you react (minimum 100 words)?
I would quickly administrate and !jail [player], if they are in an area populated with a large amount of people spectating i would move to the admin room, !strip, !unjail and !jailtp the player who MassRDMed. I would check past warnings with !warn to see past history, I would then check the !blogs on how many kills they had, tell them the rule that was broken and explain the punishment. I would then use !warn to warn the player with the reason “MassRDMx[kills] | Gunned down US solders off peak | 1 Week Ban” I would then do !xban and ban the player for the following “MassRDMx[kills] | Appeal at https://colossalgamingau.com/forums/ | Gizmoh".
Scenario 4: A well-known Player has Mass-RDMed a small squad of Players on his own team. This Player has been a very great member in the past, however recently you've observed that they are slipping up a lot.
Question 4: As a Moderator, how do you react (minimum 100 words)?
I would bring the offending player to a sit and question him on why he killed their allies, while explaining I would then use !blogs to check the amount of people he killed and !warn to check the users previous warns. Depending on the history of the player I will punish accordingly.
If the player has no previous history or the reason is sufficient the player would receive a verbal warning.
If the player did not have an adequate reason, they would receive a warning using !warn, with the reason “RDMx[kills] | Killed allies for no reason | Warn”.
If the case happened to be extreme, I would punish the player more severely, likely with a ban around 1-3 days.
Note: I have been on LOA recently - explaining my absence as of late, i am usually on daily
If anyone has criticism or other notes I request you speak it in the replies. I try to be open to feedback.
