Why should the staff team accept you as a Moderator on Colossal Gaming Military Roleplay?:
I believe that I should be part of this community's staff team because I personally love the community and believe that I should help and strengthen the community within my time in staff (If I make it). I can also be very calm in hard and pressuring situations with my history as staff on other servers. I am experienced with Garry's Mod staffing, and I want to try out my staffing skills in this server. This position is perfect for me also because of my leadership skills and ability to communicate with people within the server as one of them other than just a higher-up who sees in one eye. I have been Moderator, Admin, Head Admin, Manager, And Owner over my time I also do well with other staff by being respectful to everyone no matter what rank they are. I've also noticed a shortage of staff on some days on certain situations and I aim to fill in the gaps. I believe my previous experience and determination to help other players would be useful and help improve the staff team. Another reason why I believe I deserve the rank is that I am also very active. This means that I can spend a lot of time helping players and getting to know them while improving their experience on the server. I am hoping to use my friendliness to help with situations and be calm. I also have good self-discipline and if I do something wrong I will make sure it gets fixed. I deserve it because I am mature when the time comes and I can help any situation because I have read the rules over and over.
I am aware of the rules that are given regarding the server and I can say I will not break any of the server rules and will show the utmost professionalism as a staff member. I am not a hot-headed guy and I am able to effectively defuse situations, I also know how frustrating some situations may be for players so I would be able to keep calm and try to help them through it.
Discuss your ability to work in a team and give examples that demonstrate this:
On my previous community, I was always attentive at staff meetings. I generally spent quite a lot of time coordinating with other staff. When there was an unknown source of lag or player disruption, we communicated over discord to locate and eliminate the problem. For example, we had a minge named “Jeep Guy” on the server that would cause trouble. We talked to him multiple times and tried to get him to stop. The staff team and I would always make sure that everything was logged. Eventually, we wouldn’t stop even after multiple bans. We sat down as a group and decided the best course of action which was doing a perma-ban. A few months later we dmed us saying he changed and was asking for a second chance. Once again as a team, we sat down and discussed it and decided to give a second chance. While being on the server one of would watch over him and communicate and report each day. In this scenario communication and coordination was used to mitigate and monitor the server.
In real-life experience, I was with boy scouts for a couple of years. During the time, we learned to work as a team to construct and complete different tasks assigned to us. Depending on the task, each person was given a task based on their strengths and weaknesses and helped each other out when needed.
Discuss any past experiences that you believe have impacted the server and player(s) positively:
I strive to make new players experience enjoyable. I try and make training informative yet entertaining at the same time. I always ask them questions and make sure they understand everything. Basically, try and make them feel welcome and wanted on the server. I remember recently during a training a person with impaired hearing joined. He only recently gained access to the ability to hear and was still learning verbal English. I made sure to take my time and help him understand everything and tried to encourage him and show that he was welcome here. I helped him pronounce words and understand what they mean.
On my other community, there was this kid that was suffering from depression (not the fake kind). He wasn’t feeling very good about life because it wasn’t going to good from him and he was struggling. Even though he was in a different time zone I made the effort to message him every day and check in with him to see how he was doing. Eventually, he started to get better and he started doing good. In the end, he thanked me so much for everything and I still talk to him every now and then. It’s really the little things in life that make someone’s day.
Describe your personality and speak a little about yourself:
I’m not really the best at talking about myself so bear with me. My name is Nxrth or Nikolas in real life. I am 15 years old and life in the sunny state of Queensland. I am a pretty chill dude that is generally pretty easy to good along with. My humour varies quite a bit and is generally dark though. My music taste is also large too. I am your typical Aussie; I like to go out and party and enjoy life to the fullest. Nothing really bothers me, and I try and put in the effort to get to know people. I play a lot of pc and enjoy doing shit outside too. That’s pretty much it though.
Scenario 1: A Player is running around on the server and rdming constantly. Despite previous warnings from other staff, this player is still on his murder spree. All the other staff has logged off and you are the only one left. The player count is around 35. You've encountered this player before and have found him to be quite the minge.
Question 1: As a Moderator, how do you react?
The player obviously knows what they are doing and are fully aware of their actions. The player has been banned previously. How I would deal with it is I would give them a warning so other staff are fully aware of what they have done. I would ask him why he would continue to do this. After, I would then proceed to ban the player for the longest period I am allowed. This is because the player clearly has no intent to roleplay and only intends to kill. There is no need to keep him around and have him cause hell for everyone else.
Scenario 2: A well-known Player has Mass-RDMed a small squad of Players on his own team. This Player has been a very great member in the past, however recently you've observed that they are slipping up a lot.
Question 2: As a Moderator, how do you react?
I would start by jailing him as you would do. Since he is a great well known I would ask “Why would you do it, man, you’re a great player what caused this?”. From this point, I would give him he warned. I would ask if he needs any help if something is causing it externally because I am that sort of guy. Unfortunately, since he still committed RDM I would still have to give him the punishment. If he takes responsibility for what he did and is remorseful I will take that into consideration for how long the ban is. From there I would ban him for around 3-5 days. If he decides to come back I will just make sure to monitor him and just see how he is doing.
The idea is to remain cool-headed during this in order to maintain focus and not make a mistake. You can’t be biased towards anyone and have to make sure you treat them all as equals.
I thought I made just add some additional information that I thought was needed. Honestly, I know that I may not have the hours that some of the other people do, but what I have is a desire to assist and help people. I know in my case personally there have been times that I wish there was staff on but there wasn't. My only goal is to try and people players as best I can and make some meaningful contribution to the server and I feel like becoming staff would allow me to do that. Like I said previously, I may not have the others other do, but what I do have is experience and a drive to better myself and better the community for everyone. I plan on sticking around for the long run and being as active as I possibly can be. All I ask if you allow me to prove it and use my time to better it for other people.
