SteamID (Default Format): STEAM_0:1:80053510
Character Sheet (Compulsory): ARC Lieutenant Medic [SAB/9586] Barbar
Are you staff on any other servers within this community?: No.
Have you been staff on any other communities?:
- I began my GMod staffing run as a moderator for DatFancyGaming on a Jailbreak server. Ninajim: fellow Moderator at the time https://steamcommunity.com/id/Ninajim
- I was and technically still am a staff/general manager for KnoobGroup. We had servers such as Jailbreak, TTT, Sandbox, Cinema, Murder, Prophunt, Deathrun and dabbled in SWRP momentarily. Your best bet for a non-meme response is Darkbound (on CG:SWRP as Zika): http://steamcommunity.com/id/jordanaus14
- I have also been an administrator for FadedServers DarkRP previously.
How many hours do you have in-game on CloneWars?: I believe I have played about 240 hours worth of CWRP. Maybe 20 of that was minging on random servers ages ago when I didn’t understand how to play it/didn’t care, however have been following rules as best as possible during my time spent on CG.
Gametracker currently claims I have spent 225 hours on CG SWRP. https://www.gametracker.com/player/barb ... 208:27015/
How often do you use the Teamspeak server?: I haven’t used it, however am very easily contactable through the Discord server.
If you become successful in your application, you will be given a Teamspeak Server Group that is appropriate to the position you were successful in. Please understand that you may not be given access to this Server Group instantly. By typing YES you agree to never abuse your Teamspeak powers and acknowledge that you understand the Teamspeak Rules: act salute; say “Yes, Sir!“
In One Paragraph, please explain why you would like to become a Moderator on CloneWars: Just like everybody else, I wish to be able to assist with anything that may arise while I spend time on the server. A moderator position would provide me with more things to do while I play and give me a reason to be connected other than to await an ARC training session through providing additional mini-events to keep the community engaged. The position would also allow me to better understand the gamemode and would provide me with new skills regarding the gamemode. I enjoy the community and current staff team and would love the opportunity to learn and assist with my current knowledge and experience, as well as develop further relations. Additionally, it would allow me to assist in training the current ARC trainees without having to bother other staff members to give up time and spawn droids for me, however this is not a major reason, but an afterthought.
In One Paragraph, please describe how you would make an impact on CloneWars as a Moderator?: I’d like to believe that I could help provide players with more opportunities to access items to partake in their own training, as well as help newer players and current players feel more welcome within the community. I also believe that I can provide another fair, unbiased member of staff to assist and help take some of the load off of the shoulders of current staff members. I would also attempt to bring fun, refreshing mini-events to the community in order to minimise boredom between training sessions and auto events.
Scenario 1: A user has setup a PvP with his friends and they are constantly killing each other and clogging up the kill feed. A User reports to you that they find it annoying and wish for it to be stopped immediately.
Question 1: As a Moderator, how do you react?
I would collate all the players together and have a healthy and calm conversation about how no matter what, unless ordered otherwise, clones aren’t meant to be killing one another. While neither of the PvPing players are upset with the rules broken against them, the other player is affected by their actions and the PvPing must stop. There is no need for punishment in this situation unless it continues, in which case the PvPing players would receive a kick for disobeying a staff member’s request.
Scenario 2: A notorious player of the community has recently participated in a group activity with his friends on the server. The Notorious Player has broken many rules and is banned on OTHER servers in the community and a lot of players are suspicious about him. You get the opportunity to have a conversation with them and you notice they are quite mature and understanding.
Question 2: As a Moderator, how do you react?
As the player has responded cooperatively, I don’t believe the player would be in need of punishment for as long as he is acting within the rules of the server and isn’t affecting anybody. Having a bias towards him due to his actions on another server would be somewhat discriminatory, however I would keep an eye on him and ensure that he continues to play by the rules.
If the group event in question was a group mass RDM event, he would be dealt with just like any other player, and due to him responding maturely and respectfully and admits to his wrongs I would hand him a slightly reduced sentence as opposed to another player who would lose their cool midway through the sit as the said Notorious Player made the sit go smoothly by pleading guilty. If he returns and re-offends however, the reduction would be added on top of his second ban.
Thanks for taking your time to read and consider my application.
